Tarragon, Russian

Artemesia dracunculoides (Tarragon, Russian)
Artemesia dracunculoides

Not to be confused with French Tarragon, Russian Tarragon is slightly inferior as a culinary herb. So why offer it? It's the only Tarragon which can be grown from seed. The French variety can only be grown from cuttings. The flavor is also known to improve with maturity. Use tarragon in herbal vinegars, salad dressings and sauces.

Interesting Notes

Tarragon is an insect repellant.

Tarragon, Russian Growing Tips

Heavy mulching is important to adequately protect the roots during the winter months.
