Lavandula angustifolia 'Hidcote'
Hidcote is an English variety of lavender, and is one of the hardiest and drought-resistant varieties. Hidcote Lavender has gray-green foliage and is known for its especially fragrant flowers and its pleasing round growth habit. Lavender is an intense deterrent to deer, and will keep deer away from an entire garden if planted in generous amounts.
Interesting Notes Lavender scent is stress-relieving and opens the sinuses.
Sowing Information Sow seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before last frost in loose growing mix. Cover seeds 1/8" soil or 1/4" vermiculite. Keep moist. Lavender tends to take a long time to germinate. Transplant 10" apart in a sunny location.
