Lavender, French Fringed
Lavandula dentata
French fringed lavender, like all lavenders in the classification 'dentata', is far less hardy than other varieties. The leaves, instead of long spikes, are more fern-like. This ornamental quality to the foliage is lovely in combination with decorative varieties of thyme, oregano, and sage. French fringed lavender is especially good in pots and is easier to keep small than other lavenders.
Interesting Notes Lavender is in the same botanical family as rosemary, mint and sage.
Growing Tips Well-drained soil is essential.
