Basil Carbonara

This is among the quickest of dinner recipes, all you need is a fresh green salad and a crusty loaf of bread for a perfect meal.

1 lb pasta, cooked according to package direction
10 slices of bacon
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup chopped onion
4 to 6 cloves garlic, minced
1/3 cup chicken broth
3 eggs, beaten
1 cup parmesan cheese
1/4 to 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves

Makes 4 to 6 servings

Directions
While pasta is cooking, fry bacon, drain, and crumble. Saute onion and garlic in butter. After draining cooked pasta, return to cooking pot and place over medium heat. Toss pasta with butter and onion mixture, add chicken broth. Beat eggs and pour over hot pasta stirring constantly to coat pasta, and cook for about 3 minutes. Add Parmesean, bacon, and torn basil leaves. Serve immediately.
