Hummus with Purple Basil
Add a little color and flavor to your hummus with fresh herbs.
Featuring the following Pantry Garden Herbs:

1 can garbonzo beans |
 |
dash salt |
 |
1-2 t. minced garlic |
|
 |
 |
1/4 c. tahini |
 |
2-3 T. fresh squeezed lemon juice |
 |
handful of purple basil |
|
 |
 |
Crackers or pita bread |

Directions
Heat up the beans and liquid in microwave for a minute or in a small saucepan. Blend beans and liquid with the fresh garlic to mince well. Wash the basil and take leaves off the stems and put in blender. I like mini-purple basil especially. Add the other ingredients and blend until the basil is chopped up but not pureed. Serve with crackers or toasted pita.>
