A Hanging Garden
A Hanging Garden

This wreath displays the versatility and variety of thymes, as well as a sprinkling of oregano. This was created at Red Cedar Gardens, but wreaths and other sculpted shapes for the garden, made with a growing medium such as spagnum moss, can be found at many garden centers, ready to be planted. Thyme works particularly well for this because it is fragrant, trailing and dainty.

Simply plant 5 to 6 herbs starters in a spagnum filled, wire wreath frame. Every couple of days take it down, lay it on the lawn and soak it with the hose, letting it sit for a few minutes to absorb and drain. As it fills out you may need to cut it back to keep it from becoming overgrown. It's so beautiful and as easy as that!
